| Our view: |
Blanes is the first of the true Costa Brava villages and therefore the closest to Barcelona. It is not a major centre for British property buyers, but is an attractive town with excellent seaside facilities, and is no concrete jungle. Additionally it is home to two of the best botanical gardens in the whole of Spain.
Out of range of the mighty northerly Tramontana wind that strikes further up the coast, Blanes is much more temperate, and therefore an interesting option if you are considering all year round visits. It is also on the excellent Spanish rail network. |
