Not a major centre for ex-patriate purchasers. Rather soul-less. Useful local shopping, closer to many attractive areas like Begur and the resort towns near Palafrugell than Girona or Barcelona. The marina there is the best in the vicinity.
Palamos should not only be seen as the town. On the outskirts are some of the best and most attractive local beaches, and there are numerous excellent restaurants close by. Thus although Palamos itself may not be the most attractive town around, there is plenty that is appealing in the immediate vicinity. |

Palamos is one of the larger local towns, but is not a major centre for non-residents. It is the largest local fishing port - Palamos prawns are famous throughout the region. Consequently, the seafront promenade has many restaurants that specialise in the local fish.
The town also has an excellent market and is a good local shopping centre with many attractive and stylish shops, that help avoid the need to go to Girona or Barcelona.
