Design and Build
Costa Brava Homes has an associate business Nell2004 - that offers project management and design & management services. Broadly there are two kinds of project in which Nell can help.
- You buy or already own a plot of land on which you wish to build a house(s)
- We own the land and have some preliminary designs that can be adapted to your precise needs subject only to the planning consent in force.
There are many advantages to using Nell. Firstly, we all live here and speak English and Spanish, and have long experience of property development, construction, and project management. You can visit some of the houses that we have already built and judge their quality for yourself. It is very hard to manage a building project when you are a non-resident that does not speak Spanish. Secondly, our turnaround time is about 6 months from start to finish. The local norm is well over a year. This means that you get into your new house much sooner and save money in many different ways. Thirdly, we are paid a fixed percentage of the contract price. We do not make a profit on the difference between costs and selling price. We know local prices; you may not. We can therefore make sure that the price you are paying is fair. We have our own architect, buy all our own building materials, control the quality and timing of construction, have contracted independent quantity surveyor, who periodically controls the on-going works and at the end issues full report which you will receive. You then get the 10 year construction guarantee that is mandatory in Spain.
